The Department of cargo control (OGK) is the very first operational department in the Group. It began functioning in 1986. Since 1990 the Department starts to provide fleet supervising and tallying services according to requirements, rules and regulations on cargo handling on Russian ships. Reclamation activities of OGK are also developing. In 1994 the Traffic Control Service was established in the OGK structure. The Department employs skilled and reputed staff.

The level and quality of cooperation with shipping companies and the Dudinka Sea Port grows. The authority and recognition of OGK's (and DMA as a whole) rises among shipping companies, such as the Murmansk Sea Shipping Company, the Northern Sea Shipping Company, NB Shipping Ltd., as well as Baltic and Far East carriers, making individual calls at Dudinka with cargoes from the USA and Japan.

The Department is equipped with modern computer and office facilities, uses radio and other communication technologies.

The basic activities of OGK are:

• tallying and making reports on loading / discharging sea ships in the port of Dudinka;
• round-the-clock operative control of loading / discharging ships in the port of Dudinka;
• operative interaction with ships administration and Dudinka port authorities in order to solve problems arising during various stages of cargo movement;
• commercial and reclamation work with Insurance and Reclamation departments of the Murmansk Sea Shipping Company in case of cargo loss or damage;
• issuing of cargo, transport and commercial documentation in accordance with all the existing rules stipulated by the Russian Merchant Shipping Code and Rosmorflot rules;
• coordination and information exchange with other DMA departments such as the Freight forwarding department, the Agency and the Surveyor departments.

Today OGK controls all shipments of MMC "Norilsk Nickel" export metal cargo bound for Hamburg and Rotterdam, including all stages of transport and documentary job.

The process of transport and commercial documentation turnover is highly professional.

At present the automation and computerization of document turnover is being carried out in order to raise the level and quality of services provided to DMA's clients. There are plans to establish electronic information interchange with the Commercial department of the Murmansk Sea Shipping Company.

The successful work of OGK is the guarantee of qualitative and profitable freight forwarding, surveyor and other services.
